Error Message after repairing the MS Access database

Access database users may encounter certain error messages while accessing the MS Access database. Most of these error messages identify the cause of the MS Access database corruption. An effective way to repair the database is by using an inbuilt utility known as Compact and Repair. However, if this utility fails to repair and restore the database, then you need to recover and restore it from the latest backup. If you have not created any backup or the backup has been corrupted, then you need to repair the table by using effective Access Recovery software.

As a practical scenario, a user is performing certain operations on the MS Access table and the computer shuts down due to power outage. When database user restarts the system, he discovers that the table has been corrupted. To repair the table, he uses the inbuilt “Compact and Repair” utility. However, the inbuilt utility is unable to repair the table and shows the below error message:

“Microsoft Office Access was unable to completely repair the ‘|’ table and deleted some Memo, OLE Object, or Hyperlink field values. To recover the data, restore from your backup copy of the database. Note that the data in the deleted field may have been damaged by a bad sector on your hard disk. For more information on checking your disk’s surface, files, and folders for errors, search the Windows Help index for ‘checking for disk errors’”

The above error message mainly appears because of the bad sectors in the hard drive. As the error message suggests, you need to recover lost data from the backup copy of affected database. The error message also shows that the some of the Memo, Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) object have been deleted in the repair process. To prevent the occurrence of the above error message, you should always repair the table by using advanced access repair application. However, in the above scenarios, if you have not maintained any backup, then you need to use a powerful Access Database Repair tool. This software is specifically designed application that incorporates effective scanning methods to provide comprehensive Access Database Repair. With interactive, intuitive and highly graphical user interface, this utility can be easily deployed by a normal user.

Stellar Phoenix Access Recovery is the foremost access recovery utility that provides absolute and systematic database recovery. It recovers fields like Auto number, Hyperlink, Yes/No and OLE object field in tables. This read only recovery utility supports Access 2007, 2003, XP (2002) and 2000. It is compatible with Windows Vista, XP, 2003, 2000 and NT.

“Return without Gosub” Error Message in MS Access 2007

Microsoft Access forms enable the user to modify and insert records in the Access database. An Access form consists of one or more controls (text boxes, check boxes etc.) that displays or accepts the information, which the user needs to change or enter. Corruption in these forms can occur due to MS Office malfunctioning, improper system shutdown, malicious software like virus infection and more. In such situations, the user needs to recover the database form from the latest backup. However, if the user has not created any backup, then he needs to repair and restore the Access form by using powerful access recovery tools.

As a practical instance, when the user clicks on a text button (Enter) of an Access form (Dependents), he receives the below error message:

“The expression on [event name] you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: Return without Gosub”

The same error message appears when the user attempts to access the Macros. The user encounters the same error message each time he attempts to execute any other control in the form.

Cause:

The main cause of occurrence of the above error message is the corruption in the code project. The corruption can also be caused due to human errors.

Resolution:

To resolve the above error message and successfully access all the controls in the form, the user needs to follow any of the following steps:
• The user can use an inbuilt utility known as “Compact and Repair.” This inbuilt utility enables the user to repair and restore Access database objects.
• The user can recover the form from the latest backup.
• The user can create the entire Form from scratch.

However, if the user is unable to access the database form by following all the above measures, he needs to perform Access Recovery by using advanced access repair tool. This utility employs influential and powerful scanning algorithms to repair and restore the database form. Such tools provide various recovery features and interactive user interface, which makes them user friendly. They are capable of efficiently repairing the corrupted components of affected Access database and restore all data from it.
