MS access possesses a wonderful feature of having the ability to share files over the network. As we are able to make relational databases through it, sharing these files on the network provides a good way to share information. There are various ways of sharing an mdb file on the network and it also involves certain components like Jet database engine and certain other network hardwares like network interface cards, network cables, routers and hubs which ultimately form a hardware chain.

When an mdb file corrupts most of the damage occurs due to Jet database engine failure but there are also many cases where the corruption occurs due to fault in some network hardware. In these cases the data fed to the faulty hardware is not processed correctly which ultimately leads to the corruption of database and hence data loss. This damage can either be mild or severe depending upon the amount of fault in the hardware. Apart from this, there can be other reasons too which can cause database corruption;
1. Slow or configured network software.
2. If you are running on Windows 95 or Windows 98, crashes in unrelated programs, drivers and utility software (such as screensavers) can be responsible.

Now if you are unaware of whether the fault happened in the hardware chain or not and if you are able to see the icon of the moved or copied file on your computer, then when you will open it you will get some error message and the file will not open. To be sure, that the file is corrupted only due to the reason of fault in network hardware, try to repair the file by compact and repair utility or jet comp and if this doesn’t solve the problem, then it is confirmed that the problem is certainly due to fault in hardware chain. The reason can be any of the following:
1. Cyclic redundancy check error
2. Unmatched parity bit error.

These problems continue the same way until the responsible hardware is detected and replaced. But the data which is already corrupted can be repaired by another way called access repair software which is operated on the destination system (where the corrupted file has been encountered) either server or client. These software can repair the corrupted databases and hence restore them.

Stellar provides one of the best software for this called Stellar Phoenix Access Recovery software. This software works for all file version of access including Access 97, 2000, 2003, 2007 and 2002. This software recovers all the data type included in the database and provides you an interactive interface to work upon.
The most important advantage is that to use it, this not necessary that you should have an extended technical knowledge.
